About Jami

HI! Welcome to my blog. A blog I refused to start. I was forcibly pushed into blogging, and I LOVE IT!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!  I have met and interacted with people all over the world! I have never had so much fun. The psychobabble that I share on this blog is probably not the wisest on the internet, but if it resonates with a few, hey, that’ll do! I am a wife to Justin, and mother to Maggie, John, Luke, Sophie, Sam, and Charlie.  We are on a reprieve from foster care as we recover from the removal of a long-term placement.

My husband Justin and I have a ranch near our home and we love to travel and “just be.”  However, we recently relocated to the North Houston. I have a Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, and Human Development, but don’t let that fool you, I am not sure how I pulled that off. I also have an undergraduate degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (yeah, Home Ec.). I can cook anything, but don’t ask me to sew.So since this journey began I have been featured on numerous occasions on foreverymom.com and several other syndications sites including scarymommy.com and mamalode.com,

You can also find me on Fox News, Today Parenting, and Huffington!

Basically, you only have to read a couple of my blog posts to get the gist. It is pretty cut and dry. I love my husband and my kids, I am afraid of flying, my Xanax is on automatic refill, I am addicted to Jesus, Facebook, blogging, and babies. I love to travel and hang at my parents’ lake house outside of Houston, Texas. My dad is my #1 fan. My husband and sons don’t read my blog because they are dyslexic and are waiting for it to come out on audio.  I have run the gamut in trying to raise perfect humans and I am proud to say… I failed. They are imperfectly wonderful!  I am a Christian who tends to get snarky. I am anti-Jesus fish because I am a lousy driver, so I don’t think He wants me to advertise on my 12 passenger van for Him. And I have decided my political affiliation is Conservative, Liberal, Socialist.  I have my own ticket.

I love sharing the stories that take place in these halls where I fully embrace the Lord’s presence… He wanders around, stepping in juice puddles and stepping over laundry.  I love Him, but more, I like Him. I also believe the GOOD NEWS is just Jesus. I am not here to explain Him to you.  He wants to know you – but that is between you and Him.  I tell tales of my adventures with Him, as He is mine… I would love to hear how you know Him.  And you can always connect with me on Facebook or on my contact page.

I also enjoy speaking  (in general) and to MOPS and women’s groups. I am currently editing my second manuscript, but I have two fiction ones… they are on the back burner.  I aspire to eventually hang out with Nora Roberts and drink cosmos.  But don’t tell anyone that.  My first book launched in October of 2017 and it is called Stolen Jesus, An Unconventional Search for the Real Savior!

You can also find me on YouTube where I do all the things from Just Jesus to Recipes and Life Hacks!  I do BIG giveaways on my channel, you really should check it out!!!

Given the opportunity, I hope to continue to write about Jesus and the lunacy in my life.  I am honored you stopped by here.   May your floors be sticky and your calling ordained! Love, Jami

You can read more of my wide variety of blog posts on parenting, marriage, Jesus, foster care, adoption, mean girls, dieting, not dieting, dieting again, learning disabilities, launching kids, babies, toddlers, tweens, 12 passenger vans, general chaos and encouragements by visiting my blog at sacredgroundstickyfloors.com or by following me on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, & Instagram by clicking the links below.

You with God will help me through a most disturbing and difficult time in my life. I was a minister of music/youth for 14 years. I got sick, real sick and now have no voice with which I can lift my force and be comforted by praising God. Your message has helped me greatly knowing there are many ways to praise, I just need to learn. Thank you.

  6. We must be related and don’t know it. We can’t do algebra. We have Abilene colleges in our life. We love kids and our Savior. And now I realize we both are home ec (and education) people who we don’t sew if we can help it. I never had a sister, now I realize it’s because some other mother besides my own was raising her!

God Bless. I simply love your blog and the way you love life, Lord, and Littles even when they are Bigs.

    1. That’s crazy!
