This lovely - very dense and deliscious cake - has some special instructions that take the cake! PUT IN COLD OVEN at 275 degrees. DO NOT OPEN OVEN. Bake 1 hour and 40 minutes. Yep, you read that right!
1 cup butter softened8 oz. cream cheese3 cups sugar6 eggs4 TBSP lemon juice1/4 cup frozen strawberries thawed and drained (save juice)2 cups regular flour1 cup self-rising flourtsp vanilla
1 box powdered sugar8 oz cream cheesestrawberry juice reserved from above
Beat until fluffy butter, cream cheese and sugar.Add six eggs beat.Add lemon juice and strawberries beat until smooth.Add flour and vanilla. Beat until thoroughly mixed. Pour batter into greased and floured pan. PUT IN COLD OVEN at 275 degrees. DO NOT OPEN OVEN. Bake 1 hour and 40 minutes.
FrostingBeat together powdered sugar, cream cheese, and berry juice until desired consistency.
Frost cooled cake and garnish with fresh berries.
